The Service Capability stream takes an in-depth look at ITIL processes. This course is more suited to IT professionals with specific RCV responsibilities than managers seeking a more general, high-level overview.
This course is suitable for all IT professionals requiring a knowledge of ITIL RCV.
It may also suitable for business managers and process owners related to IT. The course is also suitable for anyone who is working toward the ITIL V3 Expert or Master certificate.

Prerequisites
You need to hold the ITIL V3 Foundation certificate to enrol for this course. You can also attend this course if you hold both the ITIL V2 Foundation and Foundation Bridge certificates.
In addition, it is recommended that you have an exposure to IT service management, ideally including change and release management.
Attending the Service Transition and Service Operation course first or reading the core ITIL publications (especially Service Transition) is highly recommended.
Certification
Successful candidates obtain the ITIL Capability certificate in Release, Control and Validation..
The 90 minute exam contains 8 multiple choice, gradient scored questions with a pass mark of 28 correct answers from 40 (70%).
This certificate also counts as 4 credits towards the 22 required to obtain the ITIL V3 Expert qualification.

Day Two
Service Validation & Testing
An in-depth review of the various test models, methods and techniques. Understanding the relationship to other processes
Release & Deployment Management
How to plan successful deployments. Process triggers, inputs and outputs
Request Fulfilment
A complete overview of the process and how request fulfilment may be used to establish self-help within and organisation
Day Three
Evaluation
The evaluation of service performance and it’s relationship to risk management.
Knowledge Management
A complete overview of the process and the data-information-knowledge-wisdom model (DIKW)
Roles & Responsibilities
Learn the key roles and responsibilities for executing each process step within PPO
Day Four
Technology & Implementing RCV
How the use of technology supports the processes within RCV and implementation considerations
Exam Preparation
A period for any last minute revision with the trainer present. A full mock paper is also taken before the full exam
